The town of Blois, across la Loire, en route to Chambord
Chambord of today...
Chambord the way it was (in the 18th century - already 200 years old!)
Fairly impressive staircase
The inside of the stircase...
... has a pretty cool skylight
The roof at the top of the staircase, has some pretty cool carving
Seamus had lots of fun taking photos
The wall paper was delicious...
... boys in blue
Louis XIV out for a ride
Lots of beautiful 'F's and dragons carved all over the place
The black diamonds and dots are very effective
You can take our word for it... the view from the top was rather nice
Chanda-deer (oh dear, sorry)
One of the hunting trophy rooms (the vegetarian was not impressed)
The little external staircase (tradesmen's entrance)
These pheasant were much easier to photograph than the wild ones in the Yorkshire Wolds
Finished the trip to Chambord with some needlework.
