Beautiful Calanque in Cassis
from a different angle
where the Calanque meets the sea
Beautiful trees above beautiful water
Hmmmm, that rock platform looks like a nice place to jump into the Meditteranean
Getting ready to get wet...
Hooly dooly it was cooly (this was as wet as the kids got, Greg and I hung in there until it felt as bearable as it looked beautiful)
Descending into Marseille
... from the speccie hills above
Our GPS took us on a mad tour through Marseille and we saw some cool stuff from the car - this cute mural/mosaic was on a butcher shop
Suddenly we rounded a corner and were heading toward some very impressive steps, it turned out to be the university
Statue with attitude (on the uni steps)
Approaching the amazing village of Les Beaux
Walking up to the back entrance to the ancient hilltop village
The village is full of quaint shops including some nice artwork
Model of the hill top castle (now in ruins - see below)
What a surprise - Seamus needed choccie gelato
Old, old walls in the still functioning village
View from window in the lower ruins to the higher ruins
Piccies can't do it justice. These ruins are amazing and incredible to walk and climb through (with great pictorial signage)
Looking from ruins down to village
Bad, bad Mum
Naughty, naughty kids
Inside the old dining hall
Looking ffrom the ruins to the plateau below
So many pretty poppies
Amazing rocky outcrop above our car park
